You may be wondering how you can be able to stop the bad, unwanted and immoral activities that you do behind bars. Some of these habits may be addictive, here is a way how to stop them.

We all know we do have some of our characters that may not be good to some of people around us. Although, it's so hard to keep away from these characters. This is because we have become so attached to them in a way that we feel we cannot live without them anymore. You have a question in your head about the things that you do when you are alone. Sometimes you feel like they are driving you away from the correct path and sometimes you feel like you are on the right track.

Vividly, you know that if you ask someone else about the things that you do, he or she will not approve to them. Deep down within you you know that these habits aren't acceptable, since you are hooked up to them, addicted to them completely you find it so hard for to walk away from them. You know that these habits affect your personality in every single detail. Sometimes you even question yourself whether you are worthy to the titles you have before people in your social life.

Don't worry about that. We are not that perfect and we will never be. We have flaws and desires which drive us to the things that we tend to do. The addictive habits that we choose to involve ourselves in are usually part of the lifestyle that we chose to live in. Some of the habits are so toxic than another. They have a huge impact on our social, physical and spiritual life. These are some examples of addictive habits I'll be talking about; taking drugs, pornography, masturbation and sex.

In this post I will show you how to stop this addictive habits. You can stop these addictive habits by doing the following things.

 1. You can stop addictive habits by adhering to your lifestyle principles.

Everyone has their own life principles. If you don't have any then you should amend them. It is very important for you to have your own life principles. This is because they will help you to choose the kind of life you want to live. These principles should contain the things that you will be able to do in your life and the things that you will always keep yourself away from them. You can just by start writing down the things you want to achieve in your life.

When you write down the things you want to achieve in your life then you will be able to choose carefully any habit that you will indulge yourself in. Being a person with your own dignity and success always starts from the habits that we tend to involve ourselves in. These habits add up to something great that has impact to your whole life.

Outline the things you want to do, and stick to them strictly. I did that long time ago. When I was a little boy, I said to myself I want to be like my uncle. Do you know why I admired to be like him?

He was very firm to whatever he chose to do. He never broke a promise that he made no matter the consequences. He never liked anything to do with drugs and he was always smart. So, from him I principled my life and I took the correct path of emulating him up to date.

 2. By keeping yourself committed to significant things in your life.

Be committed to something inspiring, important and helpful to your life. Keep yourself busy with things that you know have a significant value for you. Life is too short to waste any second you got. Never allow yourself to be fooled into habits that will ruin your reputation. You have to know that your life depends on it.

If you occupy your time doing things that are of a good course to you, then you will be able to stop these addictive habits. The more you dig deeper into things that matters to you the more you step away from your addictive habits. You can stop them if you want to. I just want to tell you it's not going to be that easy. It's like denying yourself pleasure and putting yourself in a painful, stressful and tiresome situation. Trust me, it's a good way to go.

No one has control over your life or your feelings. You can choose to shut every urge and desire you have within you. It's for the better. You will be shaping your life. Today it may be hell for you but tomorrow it will be your paradise. So, just take control of your time and make yourself busy and useful to anyone. You can choose to volunteer anywhere because at the end this will help you stop the addictive activities.

 3. By making relationships with people who have a positive influence in your life.

The things that get us mostly addicted to the habits that we base in are from the closest people we choose to invite in our lives. So, if you want to stop these addictive habits that you are in is by choosing the people you interact with correctly. If you allow yourself to be occupied by people who are in the same habits as you are in, it will be difficult for you to stop doing them.

You want a change?

Then choose people who will have a positive influence in your life. These people who have a positive influence will be able to show you away of living that is beneficial to you. They can tell how to live a better life. Make them your role models. Stick with them, talk to them, love them because we always copy the actions of the people we love the most. In this way you will be able to get the right path to stop the addictive habits.

Another important point to take note of, you should also end the toxic relationships you had with people who made you to be addictive to your current habits. Kick them away from your life. Choose light instead of darkness. Don't feel sorry to end such relationships or never apologise for doing so. When you cut yourself off from them it will enable you to focus on how to end the addictive habits since you won't have any other influence on the same habits.

 4. By involving yourself in spiritual matters.

It doesn't matter which religion you are in, but I know there is no religion that allows immorality of any manner. So, if you want to stop the addictive habits you have to turn yourself before God. Dive deep in the religious books. Read and read to seek guidance. Devote yourself before God. Do things that are acceptable to God. Sometimes we can get addicted to the harmful and poisonous habits because we are so far away from our own humanity.

We can be far away from our humanity because we have forsaken the religious guidance. This can make you do things that are of harm to your own soul and someone else's soul. If you keep yourself in the path of righteousness then there is a possibility for you to stop the addictive habits that you are in. You just have to admit that you are lost and you need guidance in your life and things will work out well for you.

 5. By seeking advice from the people you trust.

You may have tried the above ways and you still find yourself back into the same habits. You may try for the first week and see yourself improving but after two weeks you find yourself back again into them. Don't be too hard on yourself. Find someone who you trust and be open to him or her. I know it may be very hard for you to be open to anyone about the habits that you are addicted in.

You may be asking yourself, how I'm I going to tell him or her that I'm addicted to sex, drugs or masturbation. If you need help you should be able to open up. That is why I said you should look for someone you can trust. A person you know cannot rat you out. If you can't find any you can trust then go for counselling. When things are hard we have to find the right way to make them work. Keeping the problems within yourself it won't help you to get the results you desire.

Mention every detail of the problem you have to him or her. Just speak openly. Sometimes you know, sharing is very important and it might help you get an ease in dealing with problems that you have. You just have to understand you do not face these problems alone. Many people do face them every day. If you need help open up completely and you will get assisted on the issue you are struggling to stop.

To conclude, addiction is not a good thing to anyone. It will drive you away from a health lifestyle and drag your life into a mess. It is very important for us to find ways in which we can stop the addictive habits before it's too late. Our whole life depends on the habits we choose to dwell in. Do you think addiction can bring a positive result in your life?
